Gillinder Announces Acquisition of ICAO Compatible Airfield Lighting Product Line
 Gillinder
Brothers, Inc. is pleased to announce the offering of a new line
of open mold standard Airfield Lighting glass products. These
items are produced in accordance with ICAO, Annex 14 and some
FAA requirements and are the result of our continued efforts
as a world leader in Airfield Lighting glassware.
Established
in 1861, Gillinder Brothers, Inc. is a leading U.S. glass manufacturer
located in Port Jervis, NY (NW of New York City). We specialize
in custom molded, hand-pressed clear and colored glass products.
We produce from both open (GBI owned) molds and private (customer-owned)
molds for our customers needs.
This new
ICAO line is a result of an acquisition of standard tooling from
British Optical, Ltd. This line will complement our existing
FAA standard offerings that are currently supplied in the U.S.
around the world.
Products
range from various medium and high intensity edge-light domes
to convex, spreader and approach covers. To familiarize yourself

Gillinder Announces Complete Line
of LED Compatible Glass
Compositions for
Aviation Applications
Gillinder Brothers, Inc. is proud to announce the addition of four new compositions
to its array of offerings. We now offer LED BUE, LED GREEN, LED YELLOW, and
LED RED compositions. These compositions are designed for use in airport
applications with compatible aviation colored LEDs. This solves the problem
of color recognition when the airport units are in the off condition.
The compositions all
have maximized peaks in the dominant wavelength area of the corresponding
aviation colored LED. All glasses are characterized with wide peak areas
to allow for variations in LED peak output, especially variations between
different lamp manufacturers.
These compositions can
be formed into any of our off-the-shelf designs of airport products or can
be used in a proprietary design for your particular project or application.

developments in our continued effort to answer the needs of our

David Fox Named Chairman of IES Aviation Lighting Committee!
Gillinder Brothers, Inc.
is pleased to announce that David Fox, Sales & Engineering at Gillinder
has been named Chairman of the Illuminating Engineering Society's
Aviation Lighting Committee (IESALC) for the term July 2006 to July 2007.
David is a graduate of
Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science in Ceramic Science & Engineering.
David also has an MBA from Duquesne University. David has 16 years of airfield
lighting glass experience in both engineering and sales development.
David has presented many
technical papers promoting glass in industrial applications, most recently
in October of 2003 in Austin, TX where he was awarded the Shay Lean Memorial
Award for Technical Merit for his IES presentation entitled "Glass Solutions
as Applied to LED Technology."
